We are a community-based 501 (C)(3) nonprofit organization that is focused on helping make the world around us a better, happier place. Our goal is to use the growing interest of participation in sports as a catalyst for motivating youth to develop "Learning for Life" skills that will create a platform for successful education and training programs. Our experienced Board of Directors and staff, are organizing fundraisers, exciting community-building events, and in-depth communication sessions for the communities that we serve.
The organization was founded in 2017 by Carl Braggs, a youth football and basketball coach in Detroit, Michigan. While coaching various age groups of underserved youths, he observed that an excessive amount of emphasis and pressure was being applied to children to train and participate in sports at a highly competitive level. This excess pressure was a result of parents pushing their children toward a career as a professional athlete.
There are thousands of youths dedicating themselves to sports at the expense of everything else, most are facing a 100,000:1 odds on a dream to lift their families out of poverty with a professional contract. The confirmed odds of success are at a minimum and the unrealistic expectations become wasted years that are futile, misguided and harmful to their social-economic survival. DADDY'S Disciples communication and resources are aimed to start a realistic dialect for the families and the communities they will serve.
